Just A Few Of The People We Met Along The Way...

The Prospector

A Prospector and a Cardiologist

We ran into a Jack C. McGuire - a prospector - (left) on June 12th in the town of Mitchel. We also met a retired cardiologist (below) who was biking across the country with his wife following in an R.V.

Chris & Aaron

June 24th. Chris and Aaron were managing a small restaurant in Virginia City for the summer. After getting in late from biking they gave us a late night snack and a big breakfast in the morning. Chris was a big Elvis fan.

Christy Allison

On June 29, Christy gave us a place to stay after our longest day of biking. We rolled into Fort Washakie, Wyoming about 11 PM and were in desperate need of a place to sleep. She was up watering her grass and let us pitch our tents on her yard. The next day she made us breakfast and showed us her Harley-Davidson.

Bernice and Bernard (Mac) McElroy

Bernice and Mac

We met Bernice and Bernard in Colorado. They told us that when we got to Kansas we should look them up, so we did. They gave us a full tour of Belleville, washed all our clothing, and treated us to dinner. Kansas was full of many wonderful people!

Bill and Kay Perry

We met Bill Perry while we were grocery shopping in Burlington. They fed us and gave us a place to stay for the night. The next day they helped us plan our route and made sure that we went by Snake Alley
