Colorado

Colorado - July 2

After relaxing in the 107 degree water in hot springs wyoming we biked through strong winds until we reached the Colorado border. We spent our first night in Colorado with some other bikers in in a church in Walden.

The 4th of July

After leaving Walden, we battled strong winds and several thunderstorms until we reached Frisco and Breckenridge. We splurged and spent the night in a small bed and breakfast in Frisco. In Breckenridge, we saw the Fourth of July Parade and a lama.

Our Highest Point

After leaving Breckenridge we spent the day climbing Hoosier pass. At 11,542 feet (about two miles up) this was the highest point we reached on our bike trip.

Babak Appreciating the Colorado Scenery

The ride down from Hoosier Pass was great, but a head wind stopped us from going fast. At Lake George we met Bernice & Bernard McElroy and they offered us a place to stay if we went through Belleville, Kansas.
After leaving the mountainous part of Colorado, we went to Colorado Springs - the biggest city we hit on our trip.
