Kansas

Kansas - July 8th.

We reached Kansas (and the Central Time Zone) after camping in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado the previous night. The scenery in Kansas was similar to that of Eastern Colorado - many rolling hills.

Kansas Is Not Flat !!

Our biggest surprise (and disappointment) was that Kansas is not a flat state - it is full of rolling hills. This picture was taken looking South so the land is fairly constant in elevation. Kansas is full of rolling hills spaced about 4 miles apart in the West-East Direction.

The Center of America

The Geographic Center of America is located near Belleville, Kansas. In Belleville we spent the night with Bernice & Bernard McElroy in a big white house.

A Grain Processing Plant
Our days in Kansas were spent going up and down hills looking at the big white Processing Plants (above) that spotted the otherwise barren landscape.
