Where Did We Sleep?

Each of us carried our own tent and sleeping bag on our bikes. We pitched our tents in various places including national, state, and town parks. Sometimes we pitched our tents behind schools or churches. We were woken up by the local police once. This page has pictures of a few of the places we stayed at. There were also many people who let us stay in their homes.

June 14-15, Baker City, Oregon

In Baker City we set up our tents behind the local YMCA building. We took our first day off in Baker City to rest and to experience the local night-life

June 17, New Meadows, Idaho

On our second night in Idaho we camped in the New Meadow's town park. We spent the evening talking with three kids (about 12 years old) about our bike trip and watching them set off fire crackers.

June 19, Lochsa River, Idaho

Camped along the Lochsa River in Idaho (Wilderness Gateway). Our tents were about 15 feet from the water which we heard rushing by all night.

June 22, Darby, Montana

There were many unfinished log cabins along the road leading out of Missoula Montana so we slept in one.
