Ohio & Pennsylvania

Babak in Ohio

We spent our first night (July 20) in Ohio at a park in downtown Findlay. We hid our tents under a thick batch of trees and woke up surrounded by geese. We spent the next night in the elusive town of Loti. We slept in what could have been considered a rain forest and woke up with slugs all over our tent --YUCK!
After stopping at a bike store in Medina we took 42 North to 303 East and Bang! we hit steep rolling hills - the first sign of the Appalachian mountains. We bought our lunch in a supermarket and ate lunch in this nearby gazebo.

A view of the Susquehanna River in Pennsylvania

Eastern Ohio and Pennsylvania were full of many steep rolling hills and Amish Farms. After we passed the Susquehanna River we had lunch in the town of Camptown - home of the song "Camptown Races" by John Foster.
