Marina 22 Start from SV and 26th, down SV to Ocean, south on Ocean to Pico.  At Pico, veer right a bit onto Barnard Way.  Continue until it joins back up with Pacific.  Continue past Washington.  The road will loop around and to become Via Marina.  At Admiralty Way, make a right.  Continue to the marina and to the turn around.  Return the same way you came out, except you won't get back onto Barnard but will stay on Pacific to Ocean Ave. Flat

Run

San Vicente
Sullivan Canyon
Rivas Canyon
Rustic Canyon
Will Rogers
Temescal
Done the FBTC way the run begins at 4th and San Vicente. Next, the run heads down the Ocean Ave Extension hill, crosses Entrada and winds up into the hills via Amalfi Dr. After a couple switchbacks you'll reach a timely plateau at the intersection of Amalfi and Mesa. Head downhill on Mesa and then make a quick right into Rustic Canyon on Latimer Rd. Follow Latimer out to where it makes a "T" with Sunset Blvd, watch the traffic and cross over to the North side of Sunset and head to the right. Turn left up the first street you come to (Rivas Canyon Rd). It's a private road but nobody cares if you run up there. Don't drive up there though as ther's no where to park.Run up Rivas Cyn to its end at a concrete circle with a basketball hoop. This is the place where Dave Foote (among others) likes to stop and pretend he has to pee because we've been going more or less uphill for a while now. Facing the basketball hoop you'll see a trailhead on your left and a trailhead on your right. The left trail is flat and leads to the Defile of Doom and eventually Temescal Gateway Park. Ignore that for now.

The right trail heads up fairly steeply and will lead you to the promised land. Will Rodgers State Historical Park (WRSHP). Yep that's right. Worship. You'll follow the trail uphill for a bit and then the trail dumps you out in a meadow. Go straight across the meadow to find a trail that bears left and follows a white fence above the Will Rogers parking lot. You could have driven to this point (and paid like $7 to park) but where's the fun in that? Anyway. This trail leads to a stairway/trail that switchbacks up hill. Follow it and get ready to hurt. For the next mile or so just keep going up hill and you won't get lost. You'll have excellent views of the ocean and Catalina ahead and views of LA behind. If you squint you may see Japan in the distance or dolphins in the bay or maybe models doing a nude photo shoot on the beach. Don't let this distract you from the pounding in your chest or the lactic acid burning its way through your quads. After the first big climb and a few turns you come to a fairly flat, fairly straight stretch. At the end of this stretch you could take a long cut and run the secret trail, but if I told you about it it wouldn't be secret anymore. Instead, the conventional way to run Will continues up the main trail until an intersection. If you go straight here you'll climb a bit more to Inspiration Point for a good view, but you are too tired for that now, trust me. Bear left and you'll see a big sign that shows you the way up the Backbone Trail. Don't go up there. Not now anyway. Instead go straight down the wide fire road and follow it (ignoring the right turn that would take you down the Bambi trail) around the corner to the right. It will wind along downhill and drop you just above the frolicky grass field next to the Will Rogers House.

Run across the grass and leap and yell "Run Fluffy, Run!" Then stop at the bathroom and get a drink. Your watch should read about 40 minutes or you suck. Well, that sounds harsh. But it's true. It is. From here you'll run across the corner of the polo field to find a trail (that may claim to be closed for repairs) that switchbacks down to Sunset. Cross Sunset and try not to die. Turn right and run along the sidewalk until you come to a big driveway just after the traffic light. Turn left into the driveway and bear left and you should find yourself next to an amazing huge house. In front of you is a small wooden bridge blocked by a gate. Go through the gate and out the other side of the bridge and you are at the cul de sac at the end of Latimer Rd. Follow it out through Rustic Canyon (pretty soon you'll be backtracking), turn left (uphill) on Mesa and rumble down the Amalfi switchbacks, cross Entrada, power up the Ocean Ave hill, and find salvation in the water fountains and amazing views at the corner of Ocean and San Vicente. You are almost home.

Drink some water, watch for dolphins or hot women, and then run up San Vicente to 4th.
